I’ve done what I set out to do, which was to set to music the famous text known as “The Lord’s Prayer.” More needs to be done in the way of photos and performance by real chorus.
With those things in the works, here’s my computer-generated mock-up of what I anticipate the final product will look and sound like. Actual singers and some instrumentation tweaking will make all the difference.
Scored for organ and piano, this rendition incorporates a few additional instruments, due to organ soundfont limitations.

Thy Will Be Done
The Lord’s Prayer
Adapted from Matthew 6:9-13
Humbly set to music by me,
Walter Weidenbacher
I named my setting of the celebrated words generally known as The Our Father and The Lord’s Prayer, “Thy Will Be Done.”
Musicologists will notice the several snatches I took from a few great composers, including the one from Albert Mallott’s beloved setting of The Lord’s Prayer. Not so noticeable is the spiritual/musical influence of Ernest Bloch's magnificent masterpiece, Sacred Service (Avodath Hakodesh).
When listening, imagine a choir of angels on high repeatedly intoning the eponymous testimony, “Thy Will Be Done,” sung by a children’s choir.
In the video, an instrumental Introit precedes the Prayer itself.
Prepared on my Dell computer, using MuseScore, Audacity, and ShotCut—all freebee apps. With special thanks to the kind individuals who helped me prepare the text, the scoring, and the audio renditions: Laura DuRocher, Bill Grimes, Karl Kraft, Polly Murray, Dick Webb, Josie Burri, countless YouTube how-to videos, and the One “who put the numberless stars in their places”.
